The best time for the Everest Base Camp Gokyo Lake Trek is during Spring and Autumn seasons, i.e., March-May, and September- November.
The weather condition during this season is moderate, which will be an advantage for the hikers. You can enjoy your walk under clear skies and witness the splendid views of the peaks clearly.
The next suitable season for hikers is autumn, i.e., September- November. This season is considered to be the most favorite season by all. The famous festival Dashain, Tihar, will also be around the corner this season; hence you can enjoy the warm weather and witness festivals.
The Everest Gokyo Lake Trek is considered to be less strenuous than other treks in the region, such as the Everest Base Camp and Everest High Passes Trek. However, the route still features steep uphill and downhill terrains that can be challenging. With an experienced guide, completing the trek is still achievable.
One critical consideration for trekkers is the risk of altitude sickness. Acute altitude sickness is a serious condition, and it's important to follow the correct protocols to prevent it. Trekking leaders are well-trained to assist clients in matters related to altitude sickness. They will arrange acclimatization spots, check oxygen levels daily, and advise on the appropriate walking pace for high-altitude areas.
