When is the best time for the Annapurna Poon Hill Trek?
The Annapurna Poon Hill Trek is a fascinating journey. Before booking the trip, let’s discuss some of the ideal months to book the trek.
Considering the weather conditions, spring and autumn seasons are the best seasons for the Annapurna Poon Hill Trek. During spring( March-May), the temperature is moderate and the flowers will be blooming. The trekking trail will be interesting and so will the journey.
On the other hand, during autumn( September- November ) there will be a difference in the weather conditions. The temperature will be stable and calm for trekking.
Monsoon season is a bit harsh in the Annapurna region. The trails are often muddy and slippery. Likewise, trekkers often skip the winter season due to the cold temperature. The clouds often act as a barrier overlooking the mountain peaks. Hence, it is best to choose dates in the spring and autumn season.
Is the Annapurna Poon Hill Trek for beginners?
Yes, this trekking package is highly suitable for beginners. The hike will last four days on a blend of up and downhill paths. On average, you must walk for up to 4-5 hours daily.
To be prepared for the trek, you can join the local gym, get involved in cardio exercises, and go for hikes frequently. By doing so, your body will be accustomed to the challenge and you’ll be all set for the trip.
Is there a risk of altitude sickness at the Annapurna Poon Hill Trek?
No, while on this trek, you won’t face any difficulty of altitude sickness. The highest elevation point on this trek is 2850m at Ghorepani. At this level, there is no risk of altitude sickness.

Day 01:Arrive At Tribhuwan International Airport, Kathmandu
Upon arrival at the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, you will be welcomed by our team and transferred to your hotel.
Day 02:Fly to Pokhara, 25-min, trek to Tikhe Dhunga (1,495m/4,903ft). Distance: 9 KM, Duration: 4 Hours
Early morning, we’ll catch a flight to Pokhara. During the 30-minute flight, you can witness the mesmerizing views of the surrounding landscapes, valleys, and also the lakeside view of Pokhara. After reaching Pokhara, we’ll hop on a ride and drive to hike to Tikhe Dhunga.
Day 03:Trek to Ghorepani (2,850m/9,348Ft). Distance: 13 kilometers (8 miles). Walking Duration: 6-7 hours.
On the third day, a short hike will start from Tikhe Dhunga all the way up to Ghorepani. Ghorepani is a beautiful village that is inhabited mostly by Gurungs and Magars.
After we reach the village, we’ll unwind and rest at the guesthouse.
Day 04:Hike up to Poon Hill and onto Tadapani (2,610m/8,560ft). Distance: 9-10 KM, Duration: 6-7 Hours
Adventure awaits as we continue our journey. In the morning, we’ll hike to Poon Hill, a popular viewpoint in the Annapurna region. From this viewpoint, the magnificent views of Mt Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Machhapuchhare, and also Nilgiri.
After enjoying the sunrise, we’ll head towards our next stop- Tadapani.
Day 05:Trek to Ghandruk (9 KM- 3 hours), drive to Pokhara (2 Hours) and fly back to Kathmandu.
The final day of trekking takes you to the beautiful village of Ghandruk before driving back to Pokhara and flying to Kathmandu.
Day 06:Trek Ends/Departure
And with this, our tour comes to an end. We’ll transfer you to the airport and then bid you farewell.
