When is the best month for Khopra Danda Trek?
The best month for the Khopra Danda is any date during spring( March-May) and
autumn( September-November). These months have the most favorable weather conditions for trekking in Nepal.
Spring is the perfect season for the Khopra Danda Trek. During this season, the trail is beautifully adorned with blooming rhododendron forests, adding vibrant colors to the routes.
Likewise, the autumn season is also something to look forward to.
Is the Khopra Danda Trek difficult?
The Khopra Trek is an easy-to-moderate trek. The trek includes uphill and downhill paths, but it's easy compared to the treks in the Everest region. For the trek, you only need to maintain a decent level of physical fitness. To maintain that, you must exercise every day and eat healthily.
In addition to this, the next part which follows is the elevation of the trek.
The highest elevation of the Khopra Danda Trek is 4660m which means that there is a low risk of altitude sickness. In this matter, we want to inform you that our guides will be there to guide you on this.
Our trekking guides are professionals in their field. They will carry the first-aid kit and oximeter to measure daily oxygen levels. Moreover, the guides will also provide you with instructions regarding your walking pace and breathing pattern. With their guidance, you can quickly complete the trek.
Trip Outline
Day 01: Arrive at Tribhuwan International Airport, Kathmandu.
You'll be arriving at the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu. You'll be greeted, and then you can hop on the ride and reach the hotel.
The rest of the evening will be all yours; you can take the road around the city or prepare your bags for the next day.
Day 02: Fly to Pokhara, drive to Kimche, and trek to Ghandruk.
In the early morning, a flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara is scheduled. Pokhara is a lovely city famous for its Phewa Lake, peace pagoda, and attractive city life. On the flight, be ready to witness the splendid views of the Annapurna ranges.
After a 30-minute flight, you'll be landing at Pokhara airport. Adventure awaits you because you'll be driving from Pokhara to Kimche. Be ready for a thrill!
Upon reaching Kimche, a short hike will begin to Ghandruk, a small village of the Gurung people, an ethnic group of Nepal. The village offers mesmerizing views of the Annapurna, Himchuli, Macchapuchare, and the valleys of Nepal.
Enjoy the rest of the evening at Ghandruk.
Day 03: Trek to Tadapani (2,590m), Duration: 4 Hours
Another day, another hike! You'll be ascending towards Tadapani for this day. After a delicious breakfast in Ghandruk, you'll pass through the forests, which will be alive by birds chirping. You can enjoy the views of the Annapurna ranges, Macchapuchre, and Lamjung Himal on the route.
After approximately 4 hours, you'll be reaching Tadapani. You can rest here for the evening and enjoy your meal.
Day 04: Trek to Dobato (3,420m) Duration: 5 - 6 Hours
Early morning, a short hike will be organized to Munde View Point. From this viewpoint, you'll be mesmerized by the views of Annapurna South, Macchapuchhre, Dhaulagiri, and many more. Then, after enjoying the views, you'll return to the guesthouse for breakfast. Then, you'll pack your bags and head for your next destination- Dobato.
From Tadapani, the off-beaten path will begin. An off-beaten path means one which is isolated and less traveled. Have great conversations, drink plenty of water, and walk through the oak forests.
Upon reaching Dobato, you'll be served tea and can have the evening yourself.
Day 05: Trek to Chhistibang (2,975m) Duration: 4 Hours
After resting at Dobato, now you'll be heading toward Chhistibang. The trail on that day will be a mixture of uphill and downhill.
To reach Bayeli Kharka, you'll need to climb a bit uphill.
However, from Bayeli Kharka, there is a downhill path to Chhistibang. If you are lucky, you can look out for cows, yaks, and Danphe (Nepal's national animal).
At Chhistibang, you can rest and enjoy your stay there.
Day 06: Chhistibang to Khopra Ridge (3,660m), Duration: 3 Hours
Now, you'll begin the day with breakfast at the Chhistibang guesthouse. Then, the hike to Khopra Ridge or Khopra Dhanda will start. You'll need to take the route, which is a steady climb uphill.
You can slowly hike upwards and take breaks in between. By lunchtime, you'll reach Khopra Ridge. The views from Khopra Ridge are marvelous, where you can witness the peaks of Annapurna South, Dhaulagiri, and other ranges.
You can rest at the guesthouse or take a walk near the hill.
Optional: Hike to Khayer Lake
This is entirely optional. If you wish to hike to Khayer Lake, we can add another day for this hike.
Khayer Lake is considered a sacred lake to the Hindus. The hike is quite challenging. Hence a whole day is required to complete the hike to the lake. You'll pass through waterfalls and drylands on the way to the holy lake.
Day 07: Trek down to Swanta Village (2,200m). Duration: 5 Hours
Now, on this day, you'll retrace the same route from Khopra to Christians and then to Swanta Village.
You'll be walking up and downhill till you reach the village. The Magar group of Nepal mainly inhabits the village.
The Swanta Village is a small one where there are schools and lodges. After reaching Swanta Village, you can rest for the night.
Day 08: Trek to Mohare Danda, Duration: 5 – 6 Hours
Early morning, there is another hike to Mohare Danda. You'll need to take ascend uphill to Mohare Danda.
Mohare Danda is a fantastic place where you can enjoy a 360-degree view of the mountain. From here, you can witness the spectacular views of Annapurna, Manaslu Himal, and also the landscapes surrounding that region.
You can rest at the guesthouse for the evening.
Day 09: Trek to Banthanti, then drive to Pokhara.
On this day, you'll wake up at the guesthouse, where breakfast will be served. Then, after finishing, you begin the last hike downhill to Banthanti. Upon reaching Banthanti, you'll drive back to Pokhara.
Day 10: Fly back to Kathmandu.
In the morning, you'll be boarding a flight back to Kathmandu. In Kathmandu, you can have the rest of the day for yourself.
We recommend visiting shops in Thamel, which are perfect for souvenir shopping.
Day 11: Departure
This is your farewell day. Marking the end of your trip, you'll head to the Tribhuvan International Airport to catch a flight back home. One of your staff will be at your hotel 3 hours before departure.
